Texas Landscape

These photos were taken today between Glen Rose and Granbury, TX.

Hico, TX

Legend has it that Billy the Kid was not killed by Pat Garret in New Mexico, but escaped to Hico, TX where he lived under the name of "Brushy Bill" Roberts. Brushy Bill died in 1950. Prior to his death he confessed that he was indeed Billy the Kid. Was this another unprovable legend similar to tale of John Wilkes Booth who was reported to have fled after the assination of Lincoln and settled in Granbury under the name of John St. Helen. Link to the Granbury Website and click on the History of Granbury. Interesting stuff.

This evening on the lake

We don't often have sail boats on our lake, but a strong breeze bought one lone sailor out this evening. The color of the sails and the evening sky made for a good photo op.

Around Granbury

The first shot is one I've been planning on taking for sometime and finally got around to it today. I'm calling it "A lot of Bull." They are at our local Toyota dealers lot. I believe they were done by Art Blevins, one our local artists. The other is of Granbury's beautiful old courthouse, which by the way is still in use. The Court House was built in 1890 and is located in the middle of our historic square. The square is a registered historic site, with lots of quaint little shops and resturants all in the original buildings. The dog was just hanging out at Burger King. Since is was in the car there is a little camera shake so he not as sharp as I'd like but pretty anyway. I've posted a link that will tell you a little about Granbury and the different attractions.
